Funding Programs

SAC provides $10,000 of financial support to youth to help offset the cost of flying gliders through our Youth Bursary Program.

This program reimburses clubs for 80% of their expenditures on marketing and publicity initiatives to a maximum of $1,000.

Clubs that a competition that is less than 6 days in length will receive a $1,000 grant, clubs that host a competition is that is 6 days or more will receive a $3,000 grant and clubs that host a national contest will receive a $4,000 grant.

SAC will cover the cost of your entry fee for the Nationals, up to a maximum of $250.

Simulators have been used in flight training for many decades; however, simulators specifically for gliders have only become popular in the last few years.

SAC supports the Canadian National Soaring Team and Canadian Junior National Soaring Team so they may strive for excellence on the world stage.

Funding is available through the Flight Training & Safety Committee to support instructor training or safety-related initiatives.

SAC administers a comprehensive insurance program that provides both aircraft (towplanes & gliders) and airfield insurance to clubs and individuals.

The purpose of the Air Cadet / Youth Fund is to provide annual gliding and soaring training bursaries for Air Cadets and Youth members of the Soaring Association of Canada.

The Wolf Mix Fund was established to provide an independent continuing source of funds to the Soaring Association of Canada’s World Contest Fund to financially assist Canadian teams in the participation of World Soaring Championships sanctioned by the Fédération Aéronautique Internationale .
