SAC supports the Canadian National Soaring Team and Canadian Junior National Soaring Team so they may strive for excellence on the world stage. Financial support is provided through several avenues.
Because of the generous support of SAC and its members, the National Soaring Teams have participated in several international events since 2008 and have steadily improved their personal performances and also the standing of Canada in the IGC rankings.
SAC provides $10,000 of financial support to youth to help offset the cost of flying gliders through our Youth Bursary Program.
Clubs that a competition that is less than 6 days in length will receive a $1,000 grant, clubs that host a competition is that is 6 days or more will receive a $3,000 grant and clubs that host a national contest will receive a $4,000 grant.
SAC administers a comprehensive insurance program that provides both aircraft (towplanes & gliders) and airfield insurance to clubs and individuals.
